Prof. Pratt's Scholarship Makes Top-Ten Lists

Professor David Pratt has authored three papers that recently charted as top-10 downloads in their respective categories on the Social Science Research Network, a global collaborative of more than 800 leading scholars that is devoted to the rapid worldwide dissemination of social science research.

His paper " Focus on . . . Making Retirement Savings Last a Lifetime" was listed on SSRN's top-10 download list for multiple categories, including Social Security, Pensions & Retirement Income, and his paper " Focus on . . . The Bailout Bill" was listed on the top-10 download list for Employee Benefits Law. Professor David Pratt's paper " Focus on ... Scrivener's Errors" was also listed on the top-10 download list in the category of Pension Law.

Professor Pratt, who specializes in tax and employee benefits law, has taught at Albany Law School since 1994. Previously, he was in private practice in London, Cleveland and Albany.

After receiving his law degree from Oxford University, Professor Pratt was admitted to practice in England in 1975 and in New York in 1978. He has published numerous articles, primarily on employee benefits topics, including three articles on physician-assisted suicide. He is also the author of the Social Security and Medicare Answer Book (Aspen) and co-author of Taxation of Distributions from Qualified Plans (Warren, Gorham & Lamont). He is a Fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel and a Senior Editor of the Journal of Employee Benefits.

At Albany Law, Professor Pratt currently teaches Introduction to Taxation, Contracts, Trusts and Estates and Business Law Survey.
