The Katheryn D. Katz '70 Lecture Series was established last year to focus on the family law topics that Professor Katz made central to her teaching, including domestic violence, gender and the law, children and the law, reproductive rights and inequality.

Professor Katz joined the Albany Law School faculty in 1975 and taught courses in constitutional law, domestic violence, family law, children in the law and women in the law. Before joining the faculty, she was the founding partner of Powers & Katz, one of the first female law firms in Upstate New York.
