Update from the Assistant Dean of Admissions - Campus Visits - March 16 2020

March 16, 2020

Dear Accepted Students:

I write with an update regarding our Albany Law School admissions operations in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We understand that these are unprecedented times for everyone, and there are many important decisions that you are making under difficult circumstances. We want you to know that we are here to support you. While Albany Law School is fully operational, we are following the recommendations of health experts and officials by moving the majority of our programming and resources to a virtual format. The health and welfare of our community is our first priority. By practicing social distancing strategies and increasing our virtual engagement, we can do our part to keep everyone both informed and safe.

For everyone’s protection, we have suspended all on-campus visits at this time. In the coming days and weeks, we will be announcing future online chats, virtual open houses and information sessions, and other useful links to content that can help you get to know Albany Law School better.

As they have always been, various members of our Albany Law community, including admissions and career counselors, faculty, current students, and alumni are immediately available to you by email, telephone, and videoconferencing platforms. Residential classes are suspended this week, but they will resume in a fully online format beginning March 23. Soon after, we anticipate that applicants will be able to schedule an online class visit in much the same way that you might have previously considered visiting an on-campus lecture. We hope that visiting virtual events and online classes will give you at least a taste of the community-centered family-like atmosphere that defines the Albany Law experience, something you will experience in full when we are in a position to reopen our residential campus.

As our reputation has always demonstrated, Albany Law School is prepared and united. We look forward to meeting you online soon so that you can begin to form the relationships that we know will be vital to the long-term success of your legal career. We have already been recognized as a top innovative law school. We are adaptable and ready to meet all of our community members where they are, even under these extreme circumstances, as we continue to provide better opportunities and bigger impact.

Over the course of the next few weeks, you can expect some outreach from our Albany Law School staff and students, so please keep an eye on your email for updates. In the meantime, we encourage you to send us your questions at admissions@albanylaw.edu. We are eager to hear from you to learn how we can best support you in the current climate. We want to know what information and contacts you need to help you feel as confident in us as we already are in you.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Best,

Amy Mangione Signature
