Counseling Support Network

Student Assistance Program

As part of Albany Law School’s student support services, the law school has contracted with WorkLife Matters to provide all students with free and confidential counseling services. The student assistance program offers information, evaluation, crisis intervention, short-term counseling and referrals. Three counseling sessions are provided to each student.  There is no charge to students for using these confidential counseling services. Albany Law School does not receive information about individual students and families who use the program.  For more information or to connect to a counselor for free support services, call:  1-800-386-7055 (Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week)

You can also take advantage of the legal and financial libraries, forms and tools available on the website.  A variety of training resources-webinars, video and PowerPoint presentations are also available to help you manage your quality of life.

Lawyers Assistance Program (LAP)

The Lawyers Assistance Program educates the profession on issues relating to impairment due to addictions, depression and other mental health issues. These afflictions often impact members of the legal profession at greater rates than the general public. They also provide assistance, resources and referrals when help is needed. All communications with LAP are confidential.
