Professor Heverly Tackles Internet Law on 'This Week in Law'

Professor Robert Heverly spent more than an hour speaking on issues around technology and the law as a guest on the popular web-based legal program "This Week in Law" on Friday, March 29, at 2:00 p.m.

"This Week in Law" covers breaking issues in technology law, with recent topics ranging from drones and Wiki leaks to reselling e-books and copyright reform. The program, which records via Skype, is available both live and in the show's archives.

With research and teaching interests spanning property and land use law, intellectual property and copyright law, and cyberspace and communications law, Professor Heverly is active at academic conferences, in scholarly journals, and as a resource for the media.

At Albany Law School, Professor Heverly teaches International and Comparative Intellectual Property, Cyberspace Law, Property, Torts and Entertainment Law. He is also the interim director of the law school's Government Law Center.

Before joining the Albany Law faculty, Professor Heverly was a visiting professor of law at Michigan State University College of Law. Previously, he was lecturer in law and director of the LL.M. Programme in Information, Technology and Intellectual Property at the Norwich Law School of the University of East Anglia (UEA) in Norwich, England, as well as a fellow with the Information Society Project at Yale Law School, where he retains an affiliation as a faculty fellow.

A graduate of Albany Law School, Professor Heverly served as assistant director of the Government Law Center from 1992 to 2001.​
