Persaud, Scunziano, Wildes Named New York State Excelsior Service Fellows

Three of Albany Law School's most recent graduates will be playing an important role in New York State government as newly appointed Excelsior Service Fellows.

The Excelsior Service Fellowship Program — launched in 2013 by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo '82 — recruits highly talented graduates of participating schools to work full-time in the Executive Chamber and numerous state agencies.

Fellows selected from the Albany Law School Class of 2016 are:

Jessica Persaud, New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS)

Ralph Scunziano, New York State Thruway Authority

Patrick Wildes, Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs

Excelsior Service Fellows serve two-year appointments alongside senior administration members. In that role, they can influence policy while working on some of the state’s most crucial issues.

“Recruiting new ideas, fresh talent, and energy is a great way to transform state government as we continue to build a new New York,” Gov. Cuomo said when launching the program three years ago. “That is exactly what the Excelsior Service Fellows will provide for New York.”
