Parsons ’71 Named Interim Chair of CBS Corporation
CBS Corporation has named Richard Parsons interim chairman of the board of directors. The Board voted unanimously for him, and said they were fortunate to have him in the role.
In a company press release, Parsons’ stated, “"I think I speak for all Board members when I say I look forward to learning more about CBS' compelling opportunities and how we can help guide and support the Company's growth."
Parsons is a former chairman for Citigroup, and also served as CEO and chair of Time Warner. He also has worked on President Barack Obama's economic advisory team, and served as co-chair for President George W. Bush's commission on Social Security.
Since graduating as valedictorian, Parsons has stayed connected to the law school, including visiting the campus to speak to students, attending alumni gatherings and contributing generously to student scholarships and other law school initiatives. He was awarded the Trustees Gold Medal in 2011.
