Major Peter J. Glennon (Ret.) ’04 is among the newest members of the New York State Senate Veterans’ Hall of Fame.

Selected by Senator Rich Funke, Glennon was inducted during a May 15 ceremony in Albany. The State Senate Veterans' Hall of Fame recognizes veterans from New York who have distinguished themselves both in military and civilian life.

Glennon retired from military service in 2015 after 24 years with the U.S. Air Force and New York Air National Guard. He enlisted at 17 years old, earned a commission in 2000, and held numerous positions including JAG Officer. While serving he earned his J.D. from Albany Law School, Class of 2004, as well as associate’s and bachelor’s degrees. Among his numerous commendations were two Meritorious Service Medals, three Air Force Commendation Medals, and several Air Force Achievement Medals.

Glennon currently serves as chair of the not-for-profit volunteer organization Honor Flight Rochester, Inc., which he co-founded in 2008. Since then, HFR has flown more than 2,800 Rochester-area veterans to visit the memorials built in their honor in Washington D.C. He also is involved with the Pittsford Rayson-Miller American Legion Post #899 and the 55th Senate District’s “Take a Veteran to School” program.

“I accept this honor of joining the New York Veterans Hall of Fame on behalf of all military men and women who went before me and showed the way, setting great examples of sacrifice in service to something greater than themselves,” Glennon said in a statement released by Honor Flight Rochester. “I am proud to have served among them and to continue to pay tribute to them, current veterans, and those who will serve our nation in the future. And I share this recognition with all veterans who volunteer with Honor Flight Rochester and otherwise in our communities.”

“It isn’t often that you come across an individual like Major Glennon, who has spent his entire adult life serving our country and our community,” Senator Funke said. “This is someone we can learn from every day as a veteran, husband, father, business owner, and public servant.”

Glennon is the principal of The Glennon Law Firm, P.C., a litigation firm in Rochester, N.Y., that serves businesses, business owners and professionals, and executives. He lives in Pittsford with his wife, Kimberly Glennon ’04, and their four children.

At Albany Law School, Glennon was an editor for the Albany Law Review, served on the moot court board and Student Bar Association, and played on the rugby team.
