Andrew Klein ’92 was recently appointed as chair of the Board of Commissioners for Broward Health, one of the 10 largest public health care systems in the United States.

Broward Health comprises more than 30 facilities in Broward County, Fla., and has around 1,800 physicians and 8,000 employees.

Klein, who was named to the board by Governor Rick Scott in 2017, told the South Florida Business Journal, “At the end of the day, this is a team effort. We are a board that has to get a lot of things accomplished. Our finances, quality, outreach, tax reliance are all heading in the right direction. I’m thankful to have the opportunity to chair the board and continue that momentum. I hope to serve well.”

He is managing attorney of Klein Law Group PLLC, a communications practice that he founded in 2006 with offices in Albany, N.Y., and Washington, D.C. He previously held positions with the New York Public Service Commission and DLA Piper, and was associated with Kelley Drye & Warren.

He received his undergraduate degree from Clark University, where he studied economics and government. He is the author of a book chapter addressing telecom settlements and negotiations, and regularly presents on legal, regulatory, contractual, and operational issues at conferences and seminars across the country.

Klein is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, the District of Columbia, numerous federal courts, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
