Joh '70 Named President and CEO of Cypress Trust
Erik Edward Joh '70, a member of the Albany Law School Board of Trustees, has recently been named president and CEO of Cypress Trust Company, a Florida-based subsidiary of investment management firm Cypress Capital Group.
Joh, whose experience spans nearly 40 years representing individuals, families, institutions and charitable organizations in trust and estate matters, will oversee Cypress Trust's endeavors, which include wealth-transfer planning, trust administration, trustee services, estate settlement services and guardianship services for individuals and families, family foundations, institutions, trusts, not-for-profit organizations and endowments. He will work with the firm's financial advisors to offer sophisticated and highly personalized wealth-transfer strategies that protect and preserve wealth while also facilitating clients' personal and philanthropic initiatives.

Joh joins Cypress after serving for the last 30 years as the founding and managing partner of the Boynton Beach, Florida, office of the New York-based law firm of Hinman Howard & Kattell. He is also the vice-mayor of the Village of Golf in Palm Beach County, Florida.
In addition to serving on Albany Law School's Board of Trustees, Joh serves as trustee and secretary of the Florida Institute of Technology and trustee of Colby-Sawyer College. He is also a trustee of the Gertrude E. Skelly Charitable Foundation, which received the "Foundation of the Year Award" in both Broward (2002) and Palm Beach (2006) counties from Association of Fundraising Professionals, and also serves as a trustee of several other private foundations.
Active for more than 55 years with the American Red Cross, Joh served on the organization's National Board of Governors for more than six years. In 2001, he received the organization's highest award: the Harriman Award for Exceptional Leadership.
Before attending Albany Law School, Joh earned a bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College.
