This course will examine recent developments in K-12 public and private education law, policy, and practice and will cover topics such as the right to a public education and equality, control over curriculum content, the rights of students with particular needs, financing of public schools and public funding of private schools, equal opportunity of students, student expression, school safety, school discipline and the right to due process, religion in schools, and the right to privacy.
