De Armas ’11, Zambri ’98 Appointed to NAA Board
Albany Law School is proud to welcome Julio De Armas ’11 and Melissa M. Zambri ’98 to its National Alumni Association (NAA) Board.
Julio A. de Armas ’11 is a Miami-Dade local who practices mainly civil litigation, commercial litigation, and bankruptcy in his solo practice. Armas is licensed to practice law both in Florida and New York. In addition, he practices civil and commercial litigation throughout the state. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Florida International University before enrolling at Albany Law. He is also a member of the Cuban American Bar Association, the South-Miami Kendall Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association. While a student at Albany Law School, Armas was a member of the Student Bar Association, Phi Alpha Delta, the Albany Government Law Review, and the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic.
Melissa M. Zambri ’98, a partner at Barclay Damon, is a member of Barclay Damon’s Management Committee and managing director of the Albany office. She is also the co-team leader of the Health Care and Health and Human Services Providers Teams and is a former member of the Compensation Committee. In her practice, Zambri focuses on enterprise development and regulatory guidance for the health care industry. She assists health care clients with certificate-of-need applications, compliance programs, audits, investigations and self-disclosures, HIPAA compliance, and licensure issues. Zambri counsels providers on federal anti-kickback and self-referral requirements, regulations governing federal- and state-funded health care programs, including Medicare and Medicaid, and other regulatory requirements applicable to health care providers.
While a student, Zambri was the Executive Editor of the Albany Law Journal of Science and Technology – Vol. 8 and a member of the Albany Law School Environmental Outlook. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Union College and a Bachelor’s Degree from Siena College.
She serves as an adjunct faculty member for Albany Law School's Online Graduate Programs. Zambri teaches Health Care Compliance and HIPAA Compliance. She is also a mentor for the Women’s Leadership Initiative.
The pair were appointed to the Board at the law school’s recent NAA meeting.
