Albany Law School proudly celebrates its alumni, Mark Wagner ’13 and Amanda De Vito Trinsey ’11, who were recognized on Albany City & State’s recent 40 Under 40 list for their exceptional contributions to the capital region’s political and business landscape.

Mark Wagner, a graduate of the JD/MBA Dual Degree Program between Albany Law School and the University at Albany School of Business, was honored for his impactful work supporting the local business community as a partner at The Wagoner Firm.

“The award is great acknowledgment of the work that my team and I have done to help support the Capital Region business community over the years,” Wagner said.

With a focus on representing business owners and serial entrepreneurs, Wagner emphasized the importance of community impact. He recalled a significant case where his efforts secured a state liquor authority license for a local restaurant owner.

“Even though it seems like a small feat, without that license the restaurant would not be there to serve that neighborhood,” he said.

Wagner credited his professional success to the comprehensive education he received at Albany Law School and UAlbany, particularly appreciating the skills he gained from the law and business programs.

“The MBA program taught me things law school didn’t and vice versa,” he said, highlighting how it equipped him to better serve his clients.

Looking ahead, Wagner aims to expand his real estate portfolio while continuing to support local entrepreneurs. He encouraged aspiring professionals to gain as much experience as possible.

“What I would say is gain as much experience as you possibly can, take advantage of field placement programs, take advantage of the clerkships,” Wagner said. “Because we are in the capital, we have a lot of courts in the area that provide opportunities. Now is the time to try different things.”

“Your life is whatever you want to make of it."  - Amanda De Vito Trinsey '11

Amanda De Vito Trinsey is another shining example of Albany Law’s influence on future leaders. Recognized for her role in the energy sector, she noted the significance of her recognition.

“We are all working hard in this space, the energy space is relevant and interesting and important to our everyday life and what is going on in society, politics, and government," she said. "Frankly, it is not something I went to Albany Law School thinking I would do as a practitioner.”

“Through that role, I have been able to do a lot for vulnerable populations,” she said, underscoring her commitment to public service.

Reflecting on her journey, De Vito Trinsey emphasized the importance of adaptability and continuous learning in her field.

“Your life is whatever you want to make of it,” she said, highlighting that with hard work, determination, and effective networking, professionals can achieve their aspirations.

Both Wagner and De Vito Trinsey exemplify the values instilled by Albany Law School, making significant strides in their respective fields while positively impacting their communities. Their achievements serve as inspiration for current students and aspiring professionals alike.
