Elizabeth Katz, Amy J. Kellogg, Class of 2002, and Prof. Laurie F. Shanks
Award is Presented to an Albany Law School Student

Award Description

In honor of Kate Stoneman Day, a $500 award will be presented to a current Albany Law School student or group project that best answers the questions: “How has the legacy of Kate Stoneman—and her accomplishments in the legal profession—expanded opportunities for women in the practice of law? What would Kate Stoneman be fighting for today?”

The project can be an essay, mixed media, movie, poem, law article or other format as determined by the applicant.

If the submission is an existing law school paper from the last two academic years, these questions may be augmented into the paper in a separate section.

The award is a $500 total award, not a per person award for group projects.

  • Submission deadline: Friday, March 7, 2025
  • Written submissions should be limited to no more than 2,500 words and any digital submissions should be limited to 5 minutes.
