Save the date for an event honoring the life and legacy of Richard Rifkin, a career public servant and former Legal Director of the Government Law Center at Albany Law School. The event will include remarks from former New York State Attorney General Robert Abrams.

About Richard Rifkin, Esq.

Over a career spanning more than four decades in and around New York State government, Richard Rifkin held numerous roles, including: Special Counsel to Governor Spitzer; Deputy Attorney General for the State Counsel Division; Executive Director of the New York State Ethics Commission; Counsel and First Assistant in the Attorney General’s Office; and Special Counsel to the New York State Bar Association. Rifkin joined Albany Law School as Legal Director of the Government Law Center in 2020. In this role, Rifkin provided wise counsel to three different Directors and provided a wide variety of analysis — both written and oral — on pressing issues facing state and local governments until his passing in September 2024. Learn more.
