Annette Martínez-Orabona is an experienced human rights attorney, with knowledge of international public law and human rights protection mechanisms. Her research agenda explores the intersections between climate change, forced displacement and human rights in Latin America and the Caribbean. Of particular interest to her research are the impact of climate disaster recovery policies on marginalized, racialized and economically deprived persons. Prof. Martínez-Orabona teaching preferences include: international public law, international refugee law, international human rights law, climate change, disaster law, housing rights, and women’s rights.
