Serena Joyce White-Lake joined Albany Law School in January 2020.
An attorney and licensed real estate broker, Serena teaches Real Estate Transactions at the law school.
Previously, Serena clerked for two years for the New York State Court of Appeals, the State’s highest court. There, Serena drafted reports for all seven Judges of the court, analyzing issues of law in several practice areas, including constitutional, corporations, and real estate tax law.
Serena then joined the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, an agency that promotes the safety and well-being of children and adults. Serena represents the agency in administrative matters related to workplace discrimination.
Serena also serves as Director of Partnerships for Tinker and Fiddle, a company that provides racially underrepresented children with training in STEM. She additionally assists in teaching the children how to write code and complete experiments.
Serena serves on the City of Albany’s Board of Zoning Appeals, on the Board of Directors for the African American Cultural Center of the Capital Region, on the Diversity Internship Program Committee for the Albany County Bar Association, and on the Committee on Immigration Representation of the New York State Bar Association.
Finally, Serena is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
