Biography

Moya is a Senior Attorney of Data Privacy for IBM Corporation where she advises global business groups on transactional matters (including acquisitions and divestitures), artificial intelligence, cloud technology, cyber security investigations, and compliance with applicable global privacy laws.  She is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at Seton Hall University School of Law where she instructs courses in European Data Protection, Financial Privacy, and Cybersecurity laws.  

Prior to her tenures at IBM and Seton Hall Law School, Moya held roles of increasing responsibility as compliance manager and in-house legal counsel for Henry Schein, Inc. (HSI), a Fortune 500 multinational distributor of pharmaceuticals and medical devices. At HSI, Moya's responsibilities included managing legal compliance and due diligence for acquisitions, leading cross functional implementation of the organization's data protection law compliance program, and managing general compliance with global laws and regulatory requirements.  

Moya earned her Juris Doctorate from St. John’s University School of Law, M.A. in Public Policy from Stony Brook University, and B.S. in Sociology from the SUNY, College at Old Westbury. She has studied law and global affairs topics internationally at: GIMPA Faculty of Law, Ghana, West Africa; Cambridge University, Trinity College, United Kingdom; the United Nations, Geneva, Switzerland; and the University of Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain.  Moya is a Certified Information Privacy Professional with the International Association of Privacy Professionals. She is also a Long Island Business News 2020 Leadership in Law and Executive Circle Award honoree.  

Moya migrated to the United States from Jamaica, West Indies. She pays it forward by volunteering with Pro Bono Partnership and CUNY Citizenship Now! nonprofit organizations, where she advises legal permanent residents in navigating the United States citizenship and naturalization process; and volunteering as a mentor to undergraduates as part of St John’s Law School’s Ronald H. Brown Law School Prep Program to increase diversity in the legal profession.
