Brianne Goodwin JD, RN is the Senior Director of Risk Management & Patient Safety at Cambridge Health Alliance. Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) is a healthcare system embedded in Cambridge, Somerville and Boston’s metro-north communities in Massachusetts and comprises two acute care hospitals, a wide network of primary care and specialty practice clinics, and the Cambridge Public Health Department. CHA maintains an affiliation with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and MassGeneral Hospital for Children and is a Tufts University School of Medicine and Harvard Medical School teaching affiliate. Brianne's earliest clinical work as a registered nurse on a pediatric transplant unit in New York City sparked her interest in the intersection of healthcare and law. She has worked in several additional diverse areas of health care and law ranging from directing phase I-IV clinical trials to defending nurses and physicians in complex medical malpractice litigation and before state licensing boards. Brianne's work at CHA includes continual evaluation and improvement of healthcare systems to support the work of CHA clinicians, strengthening an organizational culture of safety, and advocacy for safe and high-quality patient care.  Brianne earned her undergraduate degree in nursing at Villanova University in Pennsylvania. She completed a dual Master's in Community Health Nursing and Public Health at Hunter College, one of the constituent colleges of the City University of New York. She earned her Juris Doctorate and a Master's in Bioethics from Albany Law School and Albany Medical College, respectively.
