American Moot Court Association Competition
Hosted by Albany Law School
The American Moot Court Association is the largest intercollegiate moot court organization in the US. The AMCA establishes the rules of competition and supervises regional and national tournaments that are open to all college and university students. Last year nearly 450 teams registered to compete in thirteen qualifying tournaments to attempt to win a bid to the Championship Tournament that was held at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL.
Each year, students from additional colleges and universities decide to participate in the challenging and rewarding opportunity provided by intercollegiate moot court. We anticipate that more teams will compete for one of the 80 coveted bids to the 2019-2020 Championship Tournament.
NOTE: In Fall 2017, Albany Law School hosted 23 teams from University of Albany, College of Holy Cross, Duke University, St. Thomas University in Canada, SUNY Cortland, Williams College and Yale University. This regional competition was held on October 27 and 28, 2017, Emma Walsh and Brianna Workman from St. Thomas University in Canada were the Winners.
