End of Semester Break Information

As a reminder, our partners at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) are offering Albany Law School students, faculty, and staff COVID rapid-tests before leaving campus for the end of semester break. Pre-break testing will cost $35.00, payable in advance to our Business Office by check, cash, or credit card.

The fee for this test is primarily because the Law School purchased COVID testing kits with a goal of keeping our campus safe.  We are absorbing the cost of each test whenever they are used to make sure someone who is on campus or wants to be on campus is concerned about exposure or symptoms. We have opted to provide for more testing options for our community at break, at a minimal fee, in order to alleviate some anxiety that may be associated with individuals returning home for the holidays.

As a reminder, there are free tests available at a variety of pharmacy locations, from your primary care provider, and New York State testing sites. Find a NYS testing site at: https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/find-test-site-near-you.

Complete guidance regarding the return for the Spring 2021 semester will be sent to the community soon. In the meantime, all members of the community should be advised that proof of a negative test will be required by January 25, 2021 in order to return to in-person learning. A memo on timing of this required test, as well as options for testing at ACPHS, will be sent to the community shortly after January 1.
