Community Impact
Go Beyond the Classroom
At Albany Law School we go beyond the textbook to help our students make a real difference in the world. We provide many opportunities for students to make an impact by performing community legal services for hundreds of underrepresented individuals in our community. In 2019, our students completed over 52,000 hours of pro bono and public service work. To see some of the inspiring work our students are currently doing, view our pro bono work.
Albany Law School has multiple initiatives towards the greater good, including:
Alumni and Faculty in the Community
Many of our alumni remain involved in the community long after they’ve graduated. In fact, 11% of our graduates in 2018 went on to work in the public interest, 20% in government, and 7% to judges’ chambers/clerkships. We expect that this percentage of graduates will only continue to grow as we empower students to advocate for society’s most pressing issues.
Additionally, many of our faculty members continue to contribute to community initiatives throughout their academic careers.
