Albany Law School’s Professor Rose Rameau Named Co-Chair of ABA International Investment and Development Committee
Albany Law School proudly congratulates Associate Professor Rose Rameau on her appointment as Co-Chair of the International Investment and Development Committee at the American Bar Association International Law Section (ABA-ILS). This prestigious position reflects Professor Rameau’s global expertise and deep commitment to international law and policy. The International Investment and Development Committee focuses on major investments internationally, including infrastructure projects and project finance.
Professor Rameau joined Albany Law School in Fall 2024 with an extensive background in international arbitration and cross-border legal matters. Prior to her academic career, she founded RAMEAU INTERNATIONAL LAW, a boutique firm based in Washington, D.C., and Paris, France, specializing in public international law and white-collar defense investigations. She has served as legal counsel and arbitrator in complex investor-state disputes and has represented both sovereign states and international companies in major proceedings.
Notably, in 2020, Professor Rameau secured a complete victory for the Federation of Nigeria in a high-stakes oil and gas arbitration involving a $3 billion expropriation claim.
Her new leadership role within the ABA underscores her influence in the evolving field of international investment law.
“It is an incredible honor to serve as Co-Chair of the International Investment and Development Committee of the ABA-ILS,” Professor Rameau said. “This role offers an important platform to contribute to global conversations on sustainable development, investment governance, and international legal cooperation—values I strive to bring into the classroom and legal practice every day.”
Albany Law School is thrilled to celebrate Professor Rameau’s continued impact on the international legal landscape and her dedication to excellence in both scholarship and service.
