This presentation will discuss how immigration cases and other civil proceedings, such as family/surrogates/guardianship proceedings or tax/employment matters, can impact each other. We will describe the ways in which attorneys can provide pro bono support to immigrants through their existing practice (such as in family or surrogate’s court), by using the litigation skills they already have (such as in federal habeas petitions), or by training in specific areas of immigration law (such as immigration bond hearings).
