Panelists will discuss how technology tools are changing the internal dynamics in law firms; advantages and pitfalls of adoption of legal technologies geared at improving the delivery of legal services; and how the legal profession might change if there is a shift in the adoption of artificial intelligence.

Aileen Leventon, Esq.

Ms. Leventon's passion is to improve the effectiveness of law practice in serving clients and adding value to business outcomes. She is among the very few in the legal industry who has a panoramic view: as a lawyer in private practice, in-house counsel in a large law department, as a practice group COO at a Big 4 firm and as a serial entrepreneur and professional development expert. She enthusiastically provides coaching and hands-on support for lawyers and allied professionals seeking to integrate practical business skills with the unique needs of the legal ecosystem.

Ms. Leventon founded QLex Consulting in 2006 and has been affiliated with a number of top-tier consulting organizations. She also served as a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers and in the U.S. office of Blaqwell Inc. At PwC, developed benchmarking tools that set the industry standard: the Law Department Spending Survey and the Law Firm Statistical Survey.

Robert Ambrogi's career has taken him straight to the intersection of law, media and technology. A lawyer, journalist, media consultant and blogger, Mr. Ambrogi is known internationally for his expertise in legal technology, legal practice and legal ethics. He writes the award-winning blog LawSites, is a columnist for Above the Law and the ABA Journal, and hosts the podcast about innovation in law, LawNext. He also works with the legal publishing and software company LexBlog as publisher and editor-in-chief.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Ambrogi was editor-in-chief of The National Law Journal and editorial director of ALM’s Litigation Services Division. Before joining ALM, he was with Boston-based Lawyers Weekly Publications, where he was founding editor of the national newspaper Lawyers USA and editor-in-chief of the company’s flagship newspaper, Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly.

A 1980 graduate of Boston College Law School, Mr. Ambrogi is a fellow of the College of Law Practice Management and past-president of the Massachusetts Bar Foundation and 1994 recipient of the Massachusetts Bar Association's President's Award. In his law practice, he represents newspapers and the news media and serves as executive director of the Massachusetts Newspaper Publishers Association.

 

Emma M. Greenwood, Esq.

Ms. Greenwood is the principal of Greenwood Law Group, PLLC in New York City, and has dedicated her legal career to the intersection of technology and the law. In 2011, Ms. Greenwood became one of the first three–and the first female–National Coordinating Discovery Attorneys to be contracted with the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. Over the past 20 years, she has been retained as an expert and appointed by scores of Federal District Courts to manage complex eDiscovery issues on some of the most high-profile federal criminal and civil cases in the nation, handling discovery disputes and acting as a liaison to ensure the compliance and responsiveness of her clients’ adversaries, including the U.S. Department of Justice.

Her work has been recognized locally and nationally, including by the American Bar Association (ABA), which profiled her in 2014 as one of nine lawyers in the country making innovative strides to reform the legal profession. In 2017, she was invited to testify at the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts’ Mini-Conference on Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure (FRCP) Rule 16, resulting in Rule 16.1, the first adjustment since 1938. She was also featured in the ABA Journal’s February/March 2024 issue that discussed AI and its implications within the legal profession. Ms. Greenwood is a regular faculty contributor on CLE programs and initiatives across the country on various local, state, and national eDiscovery topics.

 

Lori González, Esq.

Ms. González has years of experience helping law firms improve their business and expand their services with technology and improvements to processes and procedures. Lori lends her expertise to legal tech companies to beta test and improve regularly tech products aimed at improving the legal industry. She helps law firms test, implement, and train staff on legal tech and efficiency methods to improve growth and productivity. She is a frequent speaker at state and local bar associations and presents at national conferences.

As an access to justice advocate and legal tech enthusiast, Ms. González shares her knowledge with non-profit organizations and committees who seek to advance the practice of law or improve access to justice through automation and tech solutions. Her service includes the Tennessee Access for Justice Commission’s Pro Bono Committee, an organizer of the Music City Legal Hackers and creating new tools for access to justice with Code for America’s Nashville brigade. She served on the State Bar of California’s Access Through Innovation of Legal Services Task Force and the advisory board for the University of Las Vegas - William S. Boyd School of Law’s Tech and Innovation Initiative. Her current service includes the 2022 ABA TechShow Board. Recent awards include recognition from Women of Legal Tech and ABA Legal Rebel.

Ms. Holupko provides eDiscovery advice, education, and support to over 50 NYS agencies. She advises on policy, procedure, best practices, and the law with regards to Litigation, FOIL, Labor Relations and Investigations. She brings a wide array of knowledge to the position. She entered the public sector in 2017 after several years of nonprofit and private practice, working with NYS government in agencies in various capacities until taking on this current role in 2021. Ms. Holupko received her ACEDS certification in 2023 and was a 2024 recipient of the “Up-and-Coming Leader” Award from the NY IT Leadership Forum. She has a Juris Doctorate from Albany Law School and a BS in Business Administration from the State University of Geneseo.

Ms. Lubanko has served as Deputy General Counsel to NYS ITS since January 2022. In this role, she assists in managing the daily operations of the Division of Legal Affairs, which includes addressing a wide variety of topics related to litigation, procurement, electronic discovery, ethics, policy, and legislation. Prior to joining ITS, she worked for the NYS Executive Chamber since 2017, first as the Chamber FOIL Counsel and then as an Assistant Counsel to the Governor, managing a portfolio of technology, local government, and judicial related matters.

Ms. Lubanko has spent her entire legal career in public service. Her first position out of law school was with the Town of Colonie as an Assistant Town Attorney, and then for the City of Albany as a First Assistant Corporation Counsel. She holds a JD from Albany Law School where she graduated magna cum laude, as well as a BA from Mount Holyoke College.

Ms. Meléndez Otero is the Director of Recruitment and Student Support, and the Joint Degrees Program Coordinator at the University of Puerto Rico’s Law School. In this role, she promotes the Joint Degree Program to J.D. applicants and 1L students, showcasing its valuable career benefits. As the Director for the J.D. Admissions Office at the University of Puerto Rico, School of Law, she manages the application review process, ensuring timely completion, assignment, and evaluation of applications. She also maintains and updates the admissions pages on the School website, covering application procedures, requirements, FAQs, and next steps. She is also a Legal Project Practitioner, and has experience in writing feature articles, short stories, editorials, press releases, creative print and radio ad copy, copy editing, transcription and editing of interviews, and proofreading.
