Albany Law Earns National Recognition for Excellence in International Law

Albany Law School has been named a top school in International Law education from The National Jurist, a recognition that reflects the growing depth and momentum of the school’s global legal offerings. As international law continues to evolve—spanning arbitration, human rights, global governance, cross-border disputes, and emerging areas of accountability—law schools are adapting their curricula to prepare students for a legal landscape shaped by international considerations.

International Law Prof Rameau

Albany Law’s work in this space has been shaped in part by the expertise of faculty such as Associate Professor of Law Rose Rameau, a leading international arbitration practitioner with more than 20 years of experience. Professor Rameau has advised sovereign states and corporations in investor-state treaty disputes, cross-border matters, and white-collar investigations involving the FCPA, the UK Bribery Act, and French anti-corruption laws. Trained in both civil and common law traditions, she has also served as sole arbitrator, co-arbitrator, and tribunal president in disputes involving African states and foreign investors.

Professor Rameau has also recently represented Albany Law School at two international law conferences, the Atlanta International Arbitration Society’s 14th Annual Conference and the 16th United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD16).

“The National Jurist’s recognition is a meaningful indicator of the progress Albany Law has made in strengthening its international law offerings,” Professor Rameau said. “Over the past few years, we’ve expanded experiential learning, integrated international courts and arbitration into the classroom, and positioned students to engage seriously with global legal practice. This ranking reflects a program that is growing with intention and purpose.”

Albany Law’s inclusion on The National Jurist’s International Law Honor Roll underscores the school’s continued commitment to building a strong, academically grounded program that prepares students to thoughtfully engage with international and comparative legal issues.

That commitment was reflected throughout 2025, when Professor Rameau served as a contributor, presenter, and moderator at prominent international legal gatherings.
