    ​Familiarizes students with agency practice, the tools of government regulation, and the limits of their use. Examines the influence of politics, policy, and legal constraints on regulation. Covers a variety of regulatory strategies-including rate setting, licensing, entry and exit controls, subsidization, market incentives, and public-private partnerships-that are employed in economic and social regulation. Addresses theoretical aspects of regulation and their practical application.
