Update from the Dean for Academic Affairs Regarding the 2021 Spring Semester

Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students:

I am writing to let you know that we have received permission from the Court of Appeals to continue classes during the spring semester in the same hybrid format that we are currently using.  Classes in the spring will be assigned a classroom so students can attend in-person, but students may also choose a fully remote option.  As we did prior to the fall semester, we ask that students let the Registrar’s Office know by November 30th if they plan to take all classes remotely in the spring.

We have also made an adjustment to the Academic Calendar.  In order to avoid students traveling out of state for Spring Break and then being required to quarantine, we have decided to start the spring semester one week later, on Monday, January 25th and forego Spring Break this year.  Having the longer winter break will allow everyone more time to spend with family and still get back in time to quarantine, if necessary, before spring classes start.

Please contact me if you have any questions.  I hope everyone is healthy and staying safe.
