Thanksgiving Travel  (2021)

As we approach Thanksgiving, the Public Health and Safety Team wants to remind everyone who will be traveling over the holiday that while we are seeing a decrease in COVID cases in much of the country, there is still high COVID transmission in many areas including Albany County. You should remain cautious.
As we are a vaccinated community, there is no requirement to receive a negative COVID test before leaving or returning to campus unless you are experiencing symptoms or were exposed to a COVID positive person while you were away.

If a vaccinated individual has been exposed to a COVID-positive person, they will be required to wear a mask at all times upon notification of exposure, to test within 5-7 days of exposure and then must monitor daily for symptoms for a full 14 days while they continue to wear their mask. If the exposed individual does not develop symptoms, they do NOT need to quarantine. If symptomatic, an immediate COVID test is required, a negative test result is required to return to campus activities. Please see full policy details on our COVID-19 website.

Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Science is not offering pre-travel testing as they did last year. If you would like to get tested before traveling home for the holiday the following pharmacies offer testing for a fee:

Caring Wellness Pharmacy, 1097 New Loudon Road, Cohoes: https://www.caringwellnesspharmacy.com/covid-19-testing

Central Avenue Pharmacy, 65 Central Avenue, Albany: https://www.rxalbany.com/covid-testing

Priority 1 Urgent Care, 2080 Western Avenue, Guilderland: https://www.priority1urgentcare.com/covid19

Thank you for all of your efforts to keep our community safe and we all wish you a happy Thanksgiving.
