National Alumni Association Welcomes New President, Officers, Board Members

The Honorable Peter G. Crummey '81The Albany Law School National Alumni Association (NAA) is proud to announce that the Honorable Peter G. Crummey '81 has been named its new president. Judge Crummey's two-year term began July 1.

Additionally, the NAA named several alumni to leadership positions:

  • Officers: Megan M. Rurak '94 (president-elect) and Mark O. Chieco '02 (vice president);
  • Executive Committee members: Benjamin J. Wolf '04, Stephen Rehfuss '85, Emily Drazan Chapman '13, and Patrick Wildes '16; and
  • Board members: Renée Behrens '12, John Sly '96, and G. Nagesh Rao '04, M.S. The new board members and will each serve a three-year term.

"It is an honor to serve as NAA president and to work with this excellent leadership group," said Judge Crummey. "All of us have, in no small way, benefited from our alumni connections. I look forward to working with my colleagues and the Office of Alumni Engagement to create even more opportunities for graduates and students alike."

"I also want to thank my predecessor, Lisa M. Ogden '03, for her tireless work as president over the past year, and for her many years of service on the executive committee," he added. "Lisa was instrumental in reviving the Alumni Initiative in Mentoring program, among other initiatives. Our community is that much stronger thanks to her leadership."

A longtime member of the NAA Board, Judge Crummey is a passionate volunteer and advocate for Albany Law School. He is a lifelong resident of the Town of Colonie and has five children, including Cathryn O. Crummey '22 and Carol E. Crummey '13, who is married to alumnus Jonathan S. McCardle '13. The 31-member NAA board represents all Albany Law School alumni and was organized to promote the welfare of the school. The NAA serves Albany Law School in an advisory and networking capacity in areas such as career services, admissions recruitment, and alumni involvement. Every graduate of Albany Law School automatically becomes a member of the NAA upon graduation.
