Jill Dunn Appointed Academic Success Director
Albany Law School announced today the appointment of Jill Dunn as the new Director of Academic Success. In this role Professor Dunn will oversee all aspects of the law school’s Academic Success Program, including the Foundations for Professional Success Program, the Applied Legal Reasoning course (or its equivalent), the ACES teaching tutors program, the Sponsler Fellows Program, the Swyer Lectures and Workshops, all bar pass initiatives, the Alumni Mentoring Program, and bar exam mentoring. Professor Dunn will continue teaching Advanced Legal Analysis and the bar preparation course. She will also work closely with the faculty, staff and students to review, invigorate and strengthen the Academic Success Program and to foster greater student success in law school and on the bar exam.

Professor Dunn is a graduate of Albany Law School and practiced law for 20 years in the Capital Region, both in private practice and in state government service. During that time, she was an Assistant Examiner to the New York State Board of Law Examiners for five years. She served on the adjunct faculty in 2004 and as a Visiting Assistant Professor for Academic Success for the past year. She has been an active member of the Government Law Center Advisory Board, the National Alumni Association and a guest speaker for the Career Center for many years. She is a past President of the Capital District Chapter of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York and is a trained mediator. She has lectured for the New York State Bar Association and the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators Legal Institute.
