Class of 2022 has 91 percent employment rate, second-straight year of 90 percent+

Albany Law School is proud to announce that 91% of the Class of 2022 (Juris Doctor) is employed in law firms, government agencies, public interest organizations, and private business and industry.

This is the second year in a row a graduating class has an employment rate above 90% - the Class of 2021 also had a 91% employment rate.

“Albany Law School consistently produces brilliant, tenacious, and highly-skilled graduates in the field of law. These graduates not only demonstrate exceptional academic excellence but also possess essential work-ready qualities,” said Assistant Dean Mary Walsh Fitzpatrick of the Career and Professional Development Center.

“The Class of 2022 successfully navigated through the challenges posed by the pandemic. They have not only persevered but have also made impressive strides in their professional careers,” Walsh Fitzpatrick added.

The Class of 2022 breakdown is

  • 56% law firms
  • 24% government
  • 7% public interest
  • 6% business and industry
  • 7% clerkships

The Career and Professional Development Center consistently coordinates hundreds of interviews and hosts employer information sessions, networking events, and alumni-practitioner sessions while working in conjunction with the Office of Institutional Advancement and the law school’s 11,000+ alumni network.

Employment data is reported annually in compliance with the American Bar Association.
