Class of 2021 Has 91 Percent Employment Rate
Albany Law School is proud to announce that 91% of the Class of 2021 (Juris Doctor) is employed in a variety of law firms, government agencies, public interest organizations, and private business and industry.
Of the 150 professionally employed graduates:
- 50% are in law firms
- 21% government
- 10% public interest
- 10% business and industry
- 7% clerkships
- 2% education

“We are all incredibly proud of the Class of 2021. They have shown strength and resilience through many difficult, challenging, and unexpected moments throughout their law school careers,” said President and Dean Alicia Ouellette. “They have been—and remain—an inspiration to each of us.”
The Career and Professional Development Center offers individual guidance and support to all Albany Law students. Annually, the Center coordinates hundreds of interviews and hosts employer information sessions, networking events, and alumni-practitioner sessions while working in conjunction with the Office of Institutional Advancement and the law school’s 10,000+ alumni network.
“These graduates completed law school, studied for and passed the bar exam, and secured jobs during a challenging and uncertain time,” said Mary Walsh Fitzpatrick, Assistant Dean of the Career and Professional Development Center. “Our graduates’ success results from their hard work and the support of our committed faculty and staff who encourage and guide our students and, later, graduates.”
Annually, the law school reports this information to the American Bar Association to submits to the Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar.
