Bunce '14 and McGrath '14 Win Gabrielli Appellate Advocate Competition

Jaclyn Bunce '14 and Jocelyn McGrath '14 won the 2012 Domenick L. Gabrielli Appellate Advocacy Competition on Nov. 13.

For the final round, the pair faced off against finalists Brynne Grady '14 and Jay Plumley '14 in front of a five-member judging panel and a live audience in the Dean Alexander Moot Courtroom.

The Gabrielli Competition gives second-year students at Albany Law School the opportunity to practice written and oral advocacy skills in an intramural competition. The subject matter for the competition encompasses a broad range of current issues of social and legal importance.

Meagan Rosenkrans '13, executive director of the Moot Court Program, made sure to thank the many members of the law school community who participated in and supported the competition:

"Special thanks to Competition Chair Matthew Tulio '13 and Associate Jazmin Vargas '14 for their exceptional job in putting this competition together, as well as to the entire Moot Court Board and the 1L Volunteers for all of their help with the Final Round. Also, the Moot Court Board would like to extend our sincere appreciation and thanks to Theresa Colbert (Moot Court Legal Assistant), Professor Queenan (Domenick L. Gabrielli Appellate Advocacy Competition Faculty Advisor), and Professor Rock (Moot Court Program Faculty Advisor), for their constant support and guidance throughout the course of this competition.
