Third-year Albany Law School students Donielle Maier and Matthew St. Martin won the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Region 2 (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut) Client Counseling Competition hosted by Brooklyn Law School over the Feb. 21, 2015, weekend.

As regional champions, Maier and St. Martin will be one of 16 teams participating on March 13 and 14, 2015, in the ABA’s National Client Counseling Competition in Durham, North Carolina. This marks the third time in the past four years that a student team from Albany Law School will participate in the national finals. Albany Law teams were also regional champions in 2012 and last year’s team was invited by the ABA to participate in the national finals.

This year’s competition focused on  counseling issues in the Family Law area. This victory comes after Maier and St. Martin’s first-place success in Albany Law School’s internal  Donna Jo Morse Client Counseling Competition last semester.
