Albany Law School has unveiled an affordable tuition for its online and flexible advanced certificate programs.

At $6,975 for a nine-credit program—or $775 per credit—the tuition is designed to be one of the most competitive among American Bar Association–approved law schools in the United States, giving students the opportunity to advance their careers with a cost-effective professional credential.

The programs have been designed for both lawyers and non-lawyers by experienced industry practitioners and practicing attorneys. Certificate candidates take advantage of courses that are up-to-date with current business and legal thinking in either cybersecurity and privacy law, health law and compliance, or financial compliance and risk management. A certificate program in human resources (HR) leadership is also expected to launch in the coming months.

"We want to ensure that working students have the best opportunity to complete a career-relevant certificate that fits with their schedules, but also provides an affordable level of tuition," said Assistant Dean and Director of Online Programs Will Trevor. "A graduate certificate from Albany Law School delivers significant value for a student looking to advance their career in cybersecurity and privacy law, health law, financial compliance and risk management, or, soon, HR leadership."

The certificate programs can be completed in as few as three months.

Albany Law School launched its first fully online graduate program in 2016. The law school now offers online master's and LL.M. degree programs, as well as certificate programs, in Cybersecurity and Data Privacy, Financial Compliance and Risk Management, and Health Law and Compliance, with more offerings to be announced. All of the programs are designed to give working professionals the law and policy knowledge to advance their careers in these high-growth fields.

In March 2020, Albany Law School earned full accreditation from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
