COVID-19: Community Updates and Resources
Albany Law School has announced the appointment of Chris Colton as director of communications and marketing. In this position, Colton will serve as the chief communications administrator who will plan and implement creative strategies to amplify Albany Law School's mission, programs, accomplishments, and initiatives.
"We are confident that Chris Colton is the right person at the right time for the law school. We look forward to working with him to enhance our communications program," said Alicia Ouellette, President and Dean.
Colton, who had been serving as interim director since December, was selected following an extensive search. He joined Albany Law School in 2015 as assistant director of communications and marketing, a role in which he supported all facets of communications and marketing and worked with students, faculty, and staff across campus.
"I am excited to work alongside President and Dean Ouellette, her leadership team, and the entire Albany Law School community to build a strategy of success for our communications, marketing, and media relations efforts," Colton said. "Albany Law School is a place that educates leaders and changes lives. Its students, graduates, and faculty make an impact in myriad ways. I am eager to tell those stories across platforms and to all audiences: prospective students, journalists, leaders in academia, and the public alike."
Prior to coming to the law school, Colton worked at CBS Radio in New York City, where he led the digital strategy for WFAN while managing a dynamic staff of editors and writers. In addition, he has previous experience at the American Foundation for the Blind as an audio engineer.
Colton is an alumnus of the State University of New York at Oneonta.
