Julie Bentzen '19 has been selected by the New York State Bar Association for a highly competitive NYSBA International Section internship in Panama City, Panama.

Bentzen will work this summer with the Lombardi Aguilar Group, an international business law firm that specializes in private client services and asset protection, business and enterprise structures, tax planning and consulting, real estate, and ecommerce.

The Law Student International Internship Program offers mentoring and hands-on work experience during a four- to eight-week placement. In the past, student interns have fulfilled work assignments in various business, commercial, and financial matters. They have participated in client meetings, prepared and reviewed legal documents, conducted research, and assisted with the participating law firms' English language legal and marketing materials.

Professor Peter Halewood administers the NYSBA international internships at Albany Law School, whose students in recent years have been selected to work in Austria, Costa Rica, and other locations in Europe and Latin America. The Law Student International Internship Program is part of a larger study abroad program offered by Albany Law.

Bentzen is Managing Editor for Submissions for Volume 12 of the Albany Government Law Review.  She earned her bachelor's degree from St. Michael's College, where she studied history with minors in Spanish and global studies.
