Campus - 12th Annual Celebration of National Pro Bono Week
Join Prisoners' Legal Services of New York for our 12th Annual Celebration of National Pro Bono Week. With guidance from stories, poems, concerns, and ideas submitted by incarcerated individuals, a panel of experts will discuss the various challenges faced by formerly incarcerated individuals reintegrating into society that lead to recidivism, and possible solutions that will help reduce the recidivism rate. Albany - The March on Washington, 60 Years Later
Join the New York State Bar Association and the Government Law Center at Albany Law School in commemorating the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. This program will feature Hasna Muhammad, a renowned artist, educator, social justice advocate. She will discuss the goals and legacy of the march and the critical journey toward equity that remains. The program will begin with remarks from the Honorable Rowan D. Wilson, Chief Judge of the New York State Court of Appeals, Richard C. Lewis, President of the New York State Bar Association, and T. Andrew Brown, Esq., Founder and Managing Partner of Brown Hutchinson LLP and Past President of the New York State Bar Association. This event will take place at the New York State Bar Association, located at 1 Elk Street in Albany, NY.

Join us for the 9th Katheryn D. Katz ’70 Memorial Lecture. This year’s speaker is Jane M. Spinak, the Edward Ross Aranow Clinical Professor of Law Emerita at Columbia Law School. Professor Spinak is a renowned advocate for children’s welfare and juvenile justice. The Katz Lecture Series was established in 2014 to focus on family law topics that Professor Katz made central to her teaching, including domestic violence, gender and the law, children and the law, reproductive rights, and inequality.
