Judge Peter Crummey maintains a private practice in Albany, N.Y. and has served as Colonie Town Justice since January 1, 2000 and throughout his tenure on the bench, he has been active in professional organizations and in community service.
He has served as President of the Albany County Bar Association and as a delegate to the NYS Bar Association’s House of Delegates. He is currently a member of the NYS Bar Association’s Committee on Procedures for Judicial Discipline and served on the Association’s Special Committee on Youth Courts. Judge Crummey is a member of the Board of Trustees of Albany Law School and serves as President of the School's National Alumni Association. He is also a member of the State Magistrate’s Association, the Capital District Women’s Bar Association, the NYS Bar Foundation, BPOE Colonie #2192, and the Kiwanis Club of Greater Colonie.
He graduated from Shaker High School, and earned a B.A. in English and Theology from Boston College and his J.D from Albany Law School.
Judge Crummey is a lifelong resident of the Town of Colonie and has five children, including alumna Carol E. Crummey '13 and student Cathryn O. Crummey '22.
