In many cities, law students from several schools compete for internships, field projects, and summer employment. But Albany Law is the region's only law school within a 100-mile radius, giving students unprecedented opportunities to tap into both during their course of study, and after graduation.
Today our curriculum covers 14 areas of specialization. In addition, a wide array of field placements—including internships through the Albany Law School Clinic & Justice Center, Government Law Center, and Center for Law & Innovation—provide students with opportunities to develop the skills necessary to be a lawyer.
Albany Law School also offers the legal community the Master of
Laws and Letters (LL.M.). This advanced degree provides attorneys with an
opportunity to increase their knowledge in a particular area of law.
Candidates may specialize in Government Administration and Regulation,
Health Law, Intellectual Property, International Law, or may design their
own 24-credit degree program.
Albany Law also offers an M.S. in Legal Studies with a Concentation in Technology Transfer, a program ideal for candidates looking to accelerate or launch a career in technology transfer or a related field. Students learn about the patent process, the legal framework that governs commercialization of new technology, and how to identify and assess a commercially-viable technology.
