Robert H. Jackson is one of Albany Law School’s most esteemed graduates in its 160 year history.
In 2012 we will celebrate Justice Jackson’s Centennial anniversary
since attending—and graduating—Albany Law School as a member of
the Class of 1912.
To celebrate Jackson’s Centennial, the
Law School will will host a variety of activities that include a series of
talks from prominent experts on Jackson, civil rights, international human
rights and other areas of law marked by Jackson’s decisions; the
Justice Jackson lecture; and a student writing contest with cash prizes.
Events to date for the 2012 spring semester are listed below.

The year of
events will kick off with a panel discussion on Jackson's Albany
experience. Speakers will include:
Victoria A. Graffeo '77, Associate Judge of the Court of Appeals, will set the stage by describing legal education, and specifically the Albany Law School experience, in 1912.
Professor John Q. Barrett, St. John's University School of Law and Elizabeth S. Lenna Fellow at the Robert H. Jackson Center, will talk about Jackson's time in Albany.
Paul Grondahl, Albany historian, book author and Times Union reporter, will talk about life in Albany in 1912.
