Dean Mayer practiced law with East Texas Legal Services and subsequently worked in a private criminal and civil law practice. She joined the faculty of Albany Law School in 1986. She was formerly the Director of the Disabilities Law Clinic (1986-1992); the Director of the AIDS/HIV Law Clinic (1992-1996); the Director of the Clinical Legal Studies Program (1992-2001); Associate Dean for Student Affairs (1999-2005); and is currently the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
