Schaffer Law Library is a prime resource for research and study with a collection of more than 620,000 volumes and equivalents, and an extensive array of online research tools.
Interlibrary Loan
Materials required for academic
research that are not in the library's collection can often be borrowed
from other libraries through interlibrary loan (ILL). This service is
available to Albany Law School faculty, students and staff. To
use the interlibrary loan service, first check for holdings in Schaffer
Law Library's Online Catalog. If the material is not owned by the
library, you can request it through our interlibrary loan service, ILLiad. First time ILLiad user? Register here
Requests handled by
local libraries are normally filled within one week, but requests for
materials outside the Albany area may take longer. Schaffer Law
Library is a member of the OCLC library network (WorldCat) and the New
England Law Library Consortium (NELLCO) which provides ILL access to some of
the best collections, such as those at Harvard and Yale.
You can contact the ILL Department at ill@albanylaw.edu.
Direct Access
Program
The Direct Access Program (DAP) of
the Capital District Library Council (CDLC) allows Albany Law School
faculty, staff and students to borrow materials directly from
participating libraries throughout the Capital District. For an
application, contact the library's Circulation
Desk.
