Pomerance '13 Wins Bar Scholarship for Elder Law Work

Benjamin Pomerance '13 recently earned the New York Bar Foundation's Elder Law Section Scholarship for his work in the field of elder law.

Pomerance is president of the Albany Law School chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. For the New York State Bar Association's (NYSBA) Elder Law Section, he also serves as student editor of the Elder Law Attorney publication and as student co-chair of the Law School Liaison program. He is also editor-in-chief of NYSBA's student newsletter Law Student Connection.

This past semester, Pomerance was also critical in organizing a series of veterans' rights events at the law school, including "Serving Those Who Served Us: Key Legal Issues Facing Homeless Veterans and How Attorneys Can Help," which featured Katrina Eagle, vice president of the National Organization of Veterans’ Advocates and a noted veterans’ rights attorney.
