The Government Law Network

The Government Law Network is  an effective, statewide public affairs network that could broaden public discourse on issues of mutual interest and allow members to interact with each other and have an impact on the Government Law Center's future role.

Membership in the Government Law Network—the only such network in New York—offers significant benefits, including:

  • Invitations to special events, including "member-only" networking breakfasts featuring major leaders in government. At previous events, members have had the opportunity to talk with the New York State Comptroller, agency commissioners, and counsel to the legislative leadership.
  • Access to programs developed by the GLC, the respected Albany "think tank." Network members receive announcements of every GLC event on law and policy topics such as aging, racing and gaming, environment, administrative law, government ethics, lobbying law, land use, and citizen oversight of law enforcement.
  • Opportunities to order many of the GLC's groundbreaking reports, conferences and seminar proceedings, and law day handbooks free of charge. Recent publications have covered topics on aging law, racing and gaming law, land use, judicial reform, disaster preparedness, procurement law, and energy issues.

Who's in the Network?
The Network is made up of individuals interested in government and governance issues with a particular emphasis on the legal perspective. This includes:

  • Attorneys
  • Elected officials at all levels of government
  • Corporate government relations specialists
  • Legislative and executive staff
  • Business organizations
  • Statewide associations
  • Advocacy groups
  • All others who would benefit from the programs and contacts available through the only public affairs network in the state

How to Join
Join now and take full advantage of a year of the GLC's outstanding and innovative programming on a growing list of law and policy topics. Over the next 12 months, you will be invited to attend an exclusive Government Law Network Breakfasts limited to Network Members only, plus many other important conferences, lectures and seminars on topics of current debate. You will also have the opportunity to receive—at no additional cost—select GLC reports, proceedings and handbooks published over the next year.

Membership is structured at different levels to allow for a variety of expressions of support for the work of the Government Law Center. Benefits are the same at each level, except that the higher levels receive more prominent recognition when announced in the GLC newsletter, Albany Law School Report of Gifts, and other select publications from time to time.
