Before joining Albany Law School faculty in 1975, Professor Katz was an assistant professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and engaged in private practice in Albany. She was a founding partner in one of the first female law firms in upstate New York. Her research and publication interests include reproductive rights of minors, cloning, and embryo donation. In 2007, Professor Katz was named the first Kate Stoneman Chair in Law and Democracy. Professor Katz retired from Albany Law School in 2010
