Albany Citizen's Police Review Board among honorees at St. Anne Institute gala
Albany, N.Y. – April 18, 2016
The Albany Citizens' Police Review Board (CPRB) was honored on Friday night at St. Anne Institute's annual fundraising event. The Wine, Dine & Stein event took place at the Normanside Country Club in Delmar, N.Y. The CPRB joined Marri Aviza and the Underground History Project of the Capital Region as this year's honorees. The CPRB and the Underground Railroad Project received St. Anne's "Community Partnership Award."
"We are delighted to be recognized for our contributions to Albany by an organization that does such critical community work itself, providing outstanding residential and educational services on behalf of children and families," said CPRB Chair Mickey Bradley.
The CPRB is an independent body established by the City of Albany in 2000 to improve communication between the police department and the community, to increase police accountability and credibility with the public, and to create a complaint review process that is free from bias and informed of actual police practice.

CPRB Participates in "Building Relationships Between Our Communities of Color and the Albany Police Department"
Community members and the police came together on Saturday, August 8, 2015 for Building Relationships Between Our Communities of Color and the Albany Police Department to address race relations in the city.
The well attended discussion is part of a continued effort to educate citizens about their rights while bringing our community closer together.
