Rao '04 Named U.S. SBA Entrepreneur in Residence

G. Nagesh Rao MSLS '04 was recently appointed by the U.S. Small Business Administration to serve as a policy advisor and entrepreneur in residence in the Office of Investment and Innovation. He is tasked with advising on policy and programmatic matters around the agency's oversight of the $3-billion Small Business Innovation Research & Small Technology Transfer Research Grant programs.

Rao is also helping coordinate on the White House Office of Science & Technology Policy's Interagency Lab to Market Commercialization Working Group.

Prior to his appointment to the SBA, Rao and his team, based in San Francisco, have been leading the charge on the creation of a manufacturing design challenge and accelerator platform, which was featured at CGI-America 2013 Summer Summit and thereafter plugged by President Clinton in Bloomberg Businessweek.
