Albany Law School will delay opening until 11am due to the weather.
George D. McHugh ’97 was recently appointed a Federal
Administrative Law Judge for the Social Security’s Office of Disability
Adjudication and Review (SSODAR), a lifetime appointment.
McHugh has been serving full-time with the New York Army
National Guard as the Division Staff Judge Advocate. He has served with the New
York Army National Guard since 1986, including time in Kuwait. According to an
article in Greene County News, McHugh worked “with the Kuwaiti
Ministry of Defense in their operations center.”
He also has had a private practice since 1998, located in
Ravena, N.Y., which has been turned over to Paul Sherr because McHugh will be
unable to practice privately while holding a federal court position.
Right after McHugh finished law school, he was the Assistant
Counsel to the New York State Racing and Wagering Board.
McHugh is currently being trained in Daytona, Ohio, and then
will be eligible to transfer to Albany.
